To celebrate their 100th birthday, GM put up these billboards in Detroit. Not all of these have manual transmissions under the hood, but most of them have Muncie 4 speed transmissions, just like the ones we restore.
Last weekend I invoked my privileges as a Dad, and went to the Car Show put on each year by Borchardt Speed Shop. It was their largest, with over 550 cars. We traipsed over the entire 5 blocks, and watched folks taking their babies out for a joy ride in the neighborhood. Some folks missed the watchful eye of the local police, and ignored the signs warning no burnouts, and we heard the sirens pulling them over.
Everyone had a great time, bringing the family to check out the cars.
Delightful Dodges and DeSoto’s was the theme of this year’s Iola Old Car Show so “fin cars” were exceptionally well represented, and Jerry Kopecky is among the premier restoration shops for these gems. Customers and associates from Jerry’s Barrett Jackson appearances joined him at Iola Old Car Show for the festivities and story-telling.
Jerry was a champ the first year I presented my workshops at the Iola Old Car Show. I was shaking in my boots and Jerry was a natural presenter and really helped put me at ease.
